This edition of TechPACT Pulse might just shift how you lead and connect with others. Today we feature Keys to A Great Conversation by Alison Beard in conversation with Harvard Business School's Alison Wood Brooks.

In tech and in life, the ability to hold a meaningful conversation can open doors that skills alone can't. Whether you're mentoring, pitching an idea, or collaborating with a team, the way you really connect is what leaves a lasting impression. The good news? Great conversations aren't about knowing everything, they're about doing a few things really well.

Here are tips to be a great conversationalist:

Be Prepared. Plan 2-3 topics that are interesting to all parties involved in the conversation
Listen more than you talk. The best conversationalists aren't the best speakers, they're the best listeners.
Stay genuinely curious. Ask follow-up questions that show you care about what's being said.
Don't rehearse your reply. Focus on the person, not your next comment. Let it be a real exchange.
Let go of needing to be "right". Conversations aren't competitions, they're opportunities to connect.
